Welcome to the starting place for all things "library" at Huband!
If you are looking for more library info, check out the "learning commons" idea at https://portal.sd71.bc.ca/class/6nqn3uk/Pages/default.aspx
The teacher-librarian (Ms. Spearman) and library clerk (Ms. Dillman) have been working very hard to get new books out into circulation. Some of these new books are from our regular budget and some are from the Adopt-a-School program. At this point there are about 500 new books out now in circulation or being processed so they can be out for students to enjoy!
Students can take out books during their regular library exchange time with their class or individually when their teacher allows them to go and do that. Students are welcome to work in the library and everyone is here to support students to use the library as much as possible. There is ample evidence to show that reading enhances learning!
March 2019 Update:
We just completed our annual Scholastic book fair and it was a big success. We were able to purchase about $800 in new resources and combined with parent purchases, we made about $1000 profit that can be used to buy more resources from other suppliers. We continue to try and purchase new books so that we can build up our intermediate collection.
