Registration

This is the starting place for registering your child for school at Huband.  There are several different scenarios so please review the information below:

 

1.  Kindergarten Registration

This process happens at all schools at the same time - usually the 3rd week of February for the following September.  Your child has to be 5 years old by December 31 of the year he/she starts school.  In other words, for your child to attend Kindergarten this September 2017, his/her birthday has to be between September and December 31 at the minimum.  There will be information in the local paper and from schools about the exact dates for new Kindergarten registrations.

2.  Registration for Grade 1 to 7 for September next year

After spring break, schools will begin accepting registration forms for children to attend schools for the following school year.  There will be information in the local paper and from schools about this as well.  This applies to families who move from one school catchment to another during the year and want their child to finish the year at his/her old school.  There is also a cross boundary request process if you would like to have your child attend a different school than catchment and this happens before spring break as well.  Cross boundary are only accepted under specific conditions and if there is space in the new school.  More info on cross boundary can be found here. ​

3.  Registration for Grade 1 to 7 for student to start right away (during the school year)

You can fill out a registration form below and bring it into the school or send it electronically to enroll your child into Huband during the school year.  The registration form can be found here.  We need a birth certificate or passport with the reg form and you need to prove that you are living in the school catchment before your child will be accepted.  #3 only applies if we have space available for your child in the correct grade.

4.  Registration during the Summer Months
Once school is closed at the end of June or the first week in July, you have to register electronically with the school board office.  This way, the central registration process is the same for everyone for every school.  You register online at this link:
 
When Principals and Vice-Principals return to school around the 3rd week of August, they will work through new summer registrations in the order in which they come in.  As soon as you know that you meet the criteria for registration - need a birth certificate or passport with the reg form and you need to prove that you are living in the school catchment- please register online so your child(ren) are in the queue for the fall.
